Lock Down Your Device Against Remote-Access Scams

Lock down the controls that the scammer abused so the next call gets nowhere.

    What to do

      • Uninstall every remote-access tool you don't actively use
      • Disable Windows Remote Assistance and Quick Assist; restrict RDP
      • Switch to authenticator-app 2FA on banking and email
      • Add a written rule for yourself: never install software, share screen, or type a code requested by anyone who phones you
