Recovery-scam pitches all share the same red flags — confirm before doing anything.
What to do
- Check whether they ask for any up-front fee, 'tax', 'gas' or 'verification' payment — that's a scam
- Check whether they cold-contacted you (DM, WhatsApp, Telegram, email) — legitimate recovery does not work this way
- Search the firm name + 'scam' and check FCA / ASIC / SEC / FTC warning lists
- Demand a registered company number and physical address — verify on the official register, not their site
