    Most APP-scam decisions can be challenged — and many countries now mandate reimbursement.

    What to do

      • UK: PSR mandatory reimbursement (Oct 2024) — submit a claim in writing to your bank
      • AU: ask about the Scam-Safe Accord; if refused, escalate to AFCA
      • US: dispute under Reg E for any unauthorised portion; check Zelle/PayPal protections
      • If refused, escalate: UK → Financial Ombudsman; AU → AFCA; US → CFPB
      • Always reference whether the bank met its Confirmation of Payee / warning obligations before letting the payment through
