Stop the same attack from working again.
What to do
- Switch every important account from SMS 2FA to authenticator-app or hardware-key 2FA
- Set a port-out PIN, port-freeze, and 'no SIM swaps over the phone' note on the carrier account
- Use a separate, unpublicised phone number for bank verification (some banks allow this)
- Freeze your credit report so identity-fraud follow-ups are blocked
- Report the SIM swap to the carrier's fraud team and your national telecoms regulator
