Report a Romance Scam and Block Follow-Up Fraud

Romance scam victims are aggressively re-targeted by 'recovery agents' — be ready for the second wave.

    What to do

      • Report the profile to the dating app / social platform so it is taken down
      • Report to Action Fraud (UK), Scamwatch + ReportCyber (AU), IC3.gov + FTC (US)
      • Tighten dating-app privacy: profile not indexable, no real surname, no work or location detail
      • Talk to a victim-support service (Victim Support, IDCARE, FightCybercrime) — many run free romance-scam recovery groups
      • Expect a 'recovery agent' to contact you in 1-12 weeks — they are also scammers; never pay them
