Use both layers — the in-app claim and the funding bank/card dispute — for the best chance of recovery.

    What to do

      • Reset the password and sign out of all devices in the P2P app
      • Remove any bank/card the attacker added; remove the old card from saved payments on the funding bank
      • File the in-app fraud / scam claim using the official flow (PayPal Resolution Center, Cash App Get Help, Venmo Get Help, Zelle via your bank)
      • Open a separate dispute with the funding bank or card issuer for the same transaction — they can reverse the funding leg
      • Get reference numbers for both disputes
