Bank Recall and Reimbursement After an APP Scam
Many APP funds can be recalled if reported within 24 hours.
What to do
- Call the fraud line on the back of your card (UK: dial 159 to be connected safely)
- Tell them: 'This was an Authorised Push Payment scam — please attempt a recall on the receiving bank'
- Ask the bank to flag the recipient account so other victims can be protected
- Freeze any cards or online banking access used for the payment
- Get a written incident reference number
