Stop social media from giving your location away

Once cleaned up, three habits prevent re-leaking.

That dinner photo? Post it tomorrow. The holiday album? When you're home. Real-time posting is fine for 'I'm at the office' but never for 'I'm on the other side of the world and the house is empty'.

Make it conscious to add a tag, not conscious to remove one. Camera GPS off, story location stickers off, check-ins off.

Once a year — usually a New Year reset works — go through followers and remove anyone you don't recognise or no longer talk to. Smaller follower counts = better quality engagement anyway.

If you want to share publicly (creator, business), keep that account distinct from your personal one. Public account = no location, no children, no home. Personal = friends only.
