    Paid victims are gold to scammers — your details get sold and resold. Treating the original scam as the first move in a longer campaign is realistic.

    Anyone offering to 'get your money back' for an upfront fee is running a follow-up scam. Genuine recovery comes through your bank, card issuer, or police — never via cold contact.
