Step-by-step guide to hardening your TikTok against hackers.

A few minutes securing your TikTok can prevent account takeovers and protect your content.

1. Enable Two-Step Verification

Settings → Security → 2-step verification
Choose SMS, Email, or Authenticator app
Authenticator app is the most secure option

2. Review Linked Accounts

Settings → Account → Linked accounts
Remove social logins you don't use

3. Manage Your Devices

Settings → Security → Your devices
Remove devices you don't recognise

4. Strengthen Your Password

Use a unique password of at least 16 characters
Never reuse elsewhere
Use a password manager

5. Privacy Settings

Set account to Private if not a creator
Control who can comment, duet, and stitch
Disable suggested account visibility
Restrict who can send you DMs
Review ad personalisation settings
