    Step-by-step guide to hardening your TikTok against hackers.

    A few minutes securing your TikTok can prevent account takeovers and protect your content.

    1. Enable Two-Step Verification

    • Settings → Security → 2-step verification
    • Choose SMS, Email, or Authenticator app
    • Authenticator app is the most secure option

    2. Review Linked Accounts

    • Settings → Account → Linked accounts
    • Remove social logins you don't use

    3. Manage Your Devices

    • Settings → Security → Your devices
    • Remove devices you don't recognise

    4. Strengthen Your Password

    • Use a unique password of at least 16 characters
    • Never reuse elsewhere
    • Use a password manager

    5. Privacy Settings

    • Set account to Private if not a creator
    • Control who can comment, duet, and stitch
    • Disable suggested account visibility
    • Restrict who can send you DMs
    • Review ad personalisation settings
