If you've lost access to your Snapchat account, act fast. Snapchat has recovery options that can help you get back in.

Step 1: Reset Your Password
On the Snapchat login screen, tap Forgot your password?. Choose to reset via email or phone. Follow the instructions to set a new password.
Important
If the hacker changed your email and phone, this won't work. Move to Step 2.
Step 2: Contact Snapchat Support
- Go to support.snapchat.com
- Select My account is compromised
- Fill in your username, email, and describe the issue
- Snapchat may temporarily lock the account to prevent further damage
- Follow up with any verification steps they request

💡 Tip: Snapchat can temporarily lock a compromised account to stop the hacker. This is a good thing — it protects your data while they investigate.
Step 3: Secure Your Account Once Recovered
- Change your password to a strong, unique one
- Enable two-factor authentication (Settings → Two-Factor Authentication)
- Verify your email and phone number are correct
- Review your friends list for unfamiliar additions
- Check your Snap Map and location sharing settings
- Review any snaps or stories the hacker may have posted
