Step 1: Open Accounts Center
- Go to facebook.com or open the Facebook app
- Click your profile photo → Settings & privacy → Settings
- In the left sidebar, click Accounts Center (or navigate to it under Meta Accounts Center)
- Click Personal details
- Under Contact info, click Add a new contact or tap your current email

Step 2: Add and Verify Your Proton Mail Address
- Click Add new email address
- Enter your Proton Mail address
- Enter your Facebook password to confirm
- Facebook will send a confirmation code to your Proton Mail inbox
- Open Proton Mail at mail.proton.me
- Find the code and enter it back in Facebook
Important
Step 3: Set as Primary and Remove Old Email
- Return to Accounts Center → Personal details → Contact info
- Click your Proton Mail address and select Make primary
- Click your old email address and select Remove
- Confirm the removal when prompted
Step 4: Secure Your Account
- Enable Two-Factor Authentication — Accounts Center → Password and security → Two-factor authentication. Use an authenticator app like Proton Authenticator.
- Review login activity — Accounts Center → Password and security → Where you're logged in. Remove sessions you don't recognize.
- Check connected apps — Settings → Apps and Websites. Remove apps you no longer use.
- Set a strong unique password — Use Proton Pass to generate and store a strong password.
